IMPORTANT OVERFLOW ITEM FOR THE BULLETIN
Following a proposal from St Paul’s arising from the recent Parish Away Day, the PCC has decided to support a Parish initiative on Saturday 20 December to bring greetings and goodwill to the queue of people waiting to collect food from the Hemel Hempstead Community Fridge at the Bellgate Community Centre.
The aim is to serve those waiting with tea or fruit juice and mince pies, a Christmas card (provided free by Langa Trust) and a note about pending services at St Paul’s and St Mary’s. Additionally either in the bags they are given, or served from the food laden tables, this still to be decided, to provide the waiting people a range of Christmas fare purchased from Aldi’s, Christmas puddings, custard, mince pies and shortcake, this having been welcomed by the Fridge organisers.
The average number of people served is around 50, but better to supply for 60 with any left being passed over for the Christmas Eve queue. Should you wish to contribute to this initiative please, as soon as possible, transfer a donation into the Parish Account Sort 30-94-08, Account 02036436 , with a reference ‘Fridge’, or give money to Gordon, who is overviewing this, or to Rosina, Rosamund or Andrew.
